NSSIF, HMGCC and GCHQ Discuss the Power of Collaboration at the Resilience Conference
NSSIF’s CEO Paloma and other leaders from HMGCC and GCHQ joined industry leaders and innovators at the Resilience Conference this week to discuss how government, investors, innovators and end users can work together to identify, develop and scale technologies that strengthen the UK's national security.
The panel discussion, moderated by Sky News Defence and Security Editor Deborah Haynes, explored the importance of a strong national security innovation ecosystem and the partnerships required to translate emerging technologies into operational capability.
Speaking alongside Simon Fabri from HMGCC and Hannah Lim from GCHQ, Paloma discussed the critical role collaboration plays in maintaining the UK's technological and national security advantage. The panel highlighted how government, investors, industry, academia and end users must work together to support strategically important technologies from early-stage innovation through to deployment.
The discussion also explored how investment can help innovative companies scale, attract further private capital and deliver capabilities that strengthen both national security and economic growth.
"The UK's national security advantage depends on effective collaboration between government, investors, innovators and end users. By working together to identify and support strategically important technologies, we can help innovators scale, strengthen sovereign capability and ensure the UK remains at the forefront of national security innovation."
The event brought together stakeholders from across the national security, defence and technology sectors, including government representatives, investors, founders and members of the wider resilience community.
As part of the discussion, panellists reflected on the UK's world-class innovation base and the importance of creating the right pace and environment for strategically important technologies to grow and remain in the UK. The conversation underscored the value of strong partnerships across government and industry in helping innovative technologies make the journey from concept to operational impact.
The conference marked the third consecutive year that NSSIF have participated, demonstrating the continued commitment to engaging with the UK's innovation ecosystem and supporting the development of technologies that enhance national security.
NSSIF would like to thank Resilience Media for hosting the event and for allowing a thought-provoking discussion on the future of national security innovation.
