NSSIF Portfolio Company ClearSpace Awarded UK ADR Mission Contract
NSSIF is delighted to congratulate portfolio company ClearSpace on being awarded the UK Space Agency's Active Debris Removal (ADR) Phase 3 mission contract.
The mission forms a key part of the UK's ambitions to lead global efforts in making space more sustainable. According to the UK Space Agency, the programme will support the safe capture and removal of defunct UK-licensed satellites from low Earth orbit, helping to address the growing challenge of space debris and ensure the long-term sustainability of space operations.
ClearSpace has been selected by the UK Space Agency to deliver the ADR Mission following a competitive procurement process. The contract represents a major milestone for both the company and the wider UK space sector, further strengthening the nation's capabilities in in-orbit servicing, manufacturing and space sustainability.
The award highlights the UK's continued commitment to developing technologies that enhance the safety, resilience and sustainability of the space domain, while supporting the growth of innovative companies operating at the forefront of emerging capabilities.
As an investor in pioneering technologies that support UK national security and strategic advantage, NSSIF is proud to back ambitious companies tackling some of the world's most complex technical challenges. ClearSpace's success demonstrates the strength of UK innovation and the importance of supporting businesses that are developing transformative solutions with both commercial and strategic impact.
NSSIF congratulates the entire ClearSpace team on this achievement and looks forward to following the mission's progress in the years ahead.
