NSSIF Welcomes Greenjets to Its Portfolio as the Company Raises $40m to Accelerate Next‑Generation Aerospace Technologies
NSSIF is backing Greenjets as part of our growing portfolio, reflecting the company’s strategic importance to the UK’s national security and defence ecosystem. The UK‑based aerospace technology company has announced a $40 million Series A led by Blossom Capital, with participation from NSSIF, the NATO Innovation Fund (NIF) and existing investors.
Greenjets develops next‑generation propulsion systems, airframes and launch technologies, supported by an integrated technology stack that enables rapid iteration, production at scale and deployment across multiple aerospace applications. Its growing IP portfolio across propulsion, aircraft integration and advanced manufacturing underpins its ambition to become one of the UK’s next aerospace primes.
The raise follows selection by the UK Ministry of Defence under the Low‑Cost Air Defence Effectors (LCADE) programme to develop a British low‑cost drone interceptor. Delivered through the National Armaments Director Group as part of the LEAP initiative, LCADE spans five European nations, with demonstration trials scheduled later this year.
The company is scaling rapidly, expanding to nearly 70,000 square feet of UK facilities and growing to more than 250 staff as it scales production. Greenjets’ technologies align closely with UK defence priorities, particularly in counter UAS and autonomous systems.
Greenjets presents a rare combination of deep technological advantage and a roadmap of high‑value defence and civil applications.
